About

Hello my name is Yvonne Levene-Fearnside, and I am a Family and Funeral Celebrant, registered with The UK Society of Celebrants since September 2021. I have a daughter, and a Yorkshireman for a husband of over 20 years, and am close to family members and friends alike. I enjoy walking in the countryside surrounding London – yes, it does exist! – and having coffee and a good chat with friends in the cafes local to my home. I have a love for life and am always excited about learning and trying out new creative activities.

I live and work in the London area and have spent my working life focused on working with and for young people, which has provided me with a love of people. I have always wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. This might be a small chat with an elderly lady at a bus stop, sharing her memories of growing up in the locality, or it might be talking to a young person, desiring a clear pathway for their chosen career – all have been key to how I live my life. I am inspired by the stories people like to tell. The emphasis on supporting people going through a transition is absolutely my role as a celebrant. It is my mission to honour the lives of your loved ones through respectful and engaging story-telling.

I decided to change direction and become a celebrant when I attended the funeral of my beautiful mother-in-law Margaret, in the midst of the pandemic. The lady that conducted the funeral at this difficult time, provided us with a clear and endearing picture of Margaret. She spoke of her life as a young girl, a daughter, a sister, a mother and a wife.  It was this experience that crystallised my yearning to make a difference, during some of the most momentous occasions people encounter in their lives: weddings, civil partnerships, vow renewals, naming ceremonies and funerals. I desire to make a real change to how we create such memories via my role as a Family and Funeral Celebrant.
